Dji mini 3 Pro Review

It’s quite astonishing to realize that the Mini 3 Pro has already been on the market for a year. DJI initially unveiled it in May of the previous year. Deliveries began in late May and continued into the beginning of June. The DJI Mini 3 Pro is among the most significant drone launches from DJI in recent years.

Is Dji mini 3 Pro Portable?

First off, the pros, the drone is a “mini,” which refers to its small size, light weight, portability, and regulatory compatibility. It weighs less than 249 grams. However, the word “Pro” in the name means that despite its size, it would offer a premium image worthy of professionals.

What makes this Mini more of a “Pro” than the previous Minis is the bigger sensor size. The new gimbal design provides a 1/1.3-inch sensor. It has a 48-megapixel camera, 4K at 60 frames per second, and 1080p at 120 frames per second. It’s a lightweight drone which has the capability capturing quality photos and videos.

Now compare that to the previous model, the Mini 2, which has a 1/2.3-inch sensor and a 12-megapixel camera, maxing out at 4K at 30 frames per second. As a result, both the sensor’s size and its frame rate capacity have nearly doubled. “””

Image Quality

Regarding image quality, this sensor also has dual ISO, allowing for the immediate upload of HDR movies.

Basically, this means you have fewer blown-out highlights and fewer crushed shadows, which again adds to the overall quality of the footage. The DJI Mini 3 Pro camera can record video in three different resolutions: 4K (3840 x 2160) up to 60 fps; 2.7K (2720 x 1530 up to 60fps); and Full HD (1920 x 1080) up to 60 fps. You can also record slow motion footage at 120fps, but only in Full HD resolution. Therefore, the main features are sensor size, higher frame rates, and image quality.

Dji mini 3 Pro Remote Control

The opportunity to purchase this built-in screen for the remote control, however, is another benefit.

There are cheaper options to purchase a remote for your phone. However, I don’t use it frequently for a few reasons.

Firstly, I have to carry multiple phones. Secondly, it consumes batteries quickly. Lastly, I am unable to use my phone while operating a drone.

So, it’s obvious that the extra money is worth having the built-in screen.

The new OcuSync picture transmission system is now available with this updated remote. If there is no interference or obstruction, this upgrade will increase the number of antennas from two to four, giving you a full HD live stream that can travel up to 12 kilometers.

By doing this, you should have fewer feed interruptions, which can make or ruin a shot. Overall, the feed has been reliable.

Therefore, the 12-kilometer measurement actually refers to the absence of challenges, even though they are usually present when flying. So just be aware that at a distance of 12 kilometers, there are absolutely no obstacles in your line of sight.

Dji mini 3 Pro Batteries

In terms of batteries, DJI made an intriguing move with the Mini 3 Pro. They gave us two types of batteries: one that is more geared towards longer flight time and one that keeps the drone underweight.

So, it’s up to you whether flight time or weight are more important to you. The Plus Battery provides a significant amount of flight time. 47 minutes of rated flight time are available.

With a smaller battery, you can still achieve the rated flight time of 34 minutes. Therefore, it’s great that you have the option of flying longer or adhering to the sub-250-gram limit.

It also has improved battery life, which actually gives you 34 minutes of flight time, which matches the Mavic Air 2.

With the Dji Mini 3 Pro, you can buy a bigger battery for longer flying time of 47 minutes. This allows you to fly further for things like hyper lapses.

Now, you haven’t gotten your hands on one of these extra-large batteries, so you have no opinion on them. But you personally have never been successful in getting a battery to last as long as it is claimed to. You estimated that the Mini 3 Pro’s ordinary battery could last about 25 minutes on a simple flight.

So definitely not anywhere near 34 minutes. But there is still enough time to take lots of pictures or some hyper lapses.

Vertical Shooting

Full vertical shooting mode, which enables you to photograph in portrait mode, is one of the new features. If you often create vertical films, the drone and your phone can be instantly connected, so you can transfer files and immediately post them to social media. This option is called Quick Transfer.

Now that these features are for big social media users, this might excite you. Clients are mostly asking for portrait orientation content for Tik-Tok and Instagram. I do think this is a great new feature to include to future-proof these new drones. Dji

Dji mini 3 Pro Resistance

Now, this drone also apparently has increased wind resistance. The wind can pick up and affect the smoothness of your shot because these drones are so small. Therefore, the size of the Dji Mini 3 Pro is a worry.

Hyper lapse situations are probably the most noticeable times you’ll see a drone shifting around. And here’s a look at a hyper lapse that I took in heavy wind. As you can see, it does still move around a lot.  Staying away from objects in windy situations is key to avoiding hyper lapses because it makes it harder to notice framing changes.

This drone also has tri-directional obstacle detection, and it performs wonderfully in all situations to try to keep you from running into anything.

This drone also includes intelligent features like hyper lapses and Master Shots, which is another one of those features that is a little bit too beginner-friendly. First of all, people choose to manually perform all the changes and edit all of the video in Premiere. But once more, if you want that option and are unsure about your ability to take smooth shots, it might be a wonderful thing to have.

In terms of photography, indeed, it’s possible to capture 48-megapixel images. Yet, for me, megapixels don’t hold much significance unless they’re associated with a bigger sensor. Therefore, it won’t produce images similar to the Canon R5, but it will certainly deliver superior photos compared to the iPhone 13 Pro. These are a few of the new features, specifically the most exciting ones.

The Dji Mini 3 Pro has several advantages. These include a longer battery life, a higher quality camera, and its small and light design. This makes it convenient for travel and various situations.

  • Advanced Flight Performance
  • Longer Battery Life
  • Upgraded Camera Functionality
  • Portable and Small (Easy to Carry)
  • Obstacle Reduction Technique

  • Increased Price Range
  • Exposure to Weather Conditions
  • Tough for beginners to handle
  • Can’t attach much stuff

The biggest one is that this drone does not have 10-bit color depth. It only has 8 bits. You do have the choice to shoot in the pleasing D-Cinelike profile.

However, shooting in flat profiles without at least 10-bit color depth is generally not preferred.

Because this will result in banding and artificing when you attempt to bring the colors back up to normal. On this particular drone, we advise only using the usual normal profile.

Additionally, as we have already said, the sensor is still a bit smaller than other of DJI’s more advanced models. So, the image will be more compressed. First of all, people choose to manually perform all the changes and edit all of the video in Premiere. But once more, if you want that option and are unsure about your ability to take smooth shots, it might be a wonderful thing to have.Dji

How long can a DJI Mini 3 Pro fly?

The drone’s maximum flight time with a DJI Mini 3 Pro Intelligent Flight Battery is 34 minutes.

Can the DJI Mini 3 Pro fly in the rain?

Since the Dji Mini 3 Pro is not waterproof, flying it in the rain is usually not advised. Flying in rain is dangerous for drone batteries as water can cause overheating.

The long-term performance of a drone’s battery can also be impacted by rain, which over time might cause it to corrode.

Can you fly a DJI Mini 3 Pro without the Internet?

You can use your DJI RC to fly your DJI Mini 3 Pro without an internet connection, but you’ll need one to unlock Geozones, pre-load maps, and update your DJI RC software.

Can you depend on this drone professionally?

The answer is that it depends on the project’s level. This is suitable for real estate videos nearby.

It can also be used for a few shots in a wedding film. Additionally, it is great for a local commercial needing a shot of their business. Lastly, it works well for a travel video highlighting the scenery.

And with the convenience of how small this is, you could see yourself bringing this one on a lot more shoots because it feels and looks like a toy. So, you’ll have fewer issues with authorities, and the photo will still look very high-quality. This drone can practically fit into your pocket; therefore, having a low profile will enable it to be used in more situations.

As a result, this will now be a recommendation for videographers and filmmakers who want to purchase their first drone on a budget while still getting an image that is acceptable for beginning professional client work.

Therefore, the Mini 3 Pro is likely to be a fantastic new product on the market for those who want to purchase an affordable starter drone that can shoot high-quality photographs. It is a fantastic entry-level drone for filmmakers and videographers looking to buy their first drone on a tight budget.

Now, just like all DJI drones, the drone that was released on launch day is quite a bit different than the drone we have today. DJI does a really good job of releasing firmware updates to fix problems, add new features, and enhance existing ones.

And that’s definitely the case with the Mini 3 Pro. It has been given a number of firmware updates that have greatly improved this, including the introduction of goggles and the DJI Motion 2. There are many people who have been waiting for that.

Overall, the Dji Mini 3 Pro is a fantastic option for both beginner and experienced pilots.

If you want a safe and high-performing drone for your first one, consider DJI mini drones. They have the same safety features as larger drones. If you are looking for your first drone, and as mentioned, even as a seasoned pilot, it still makes a great backup or secondary drone. We are happy to discuss about dji mini 3 pro review.
